The Manhattan Life Insurance Building was one of the oldest skyscrapers. The building, which rose to 348 ft (106.1 m), was finished in 1894 and had a small expansion in 1904. It was the first skyscraper to pass the 100 m mark. Located in Manhattan in New York City, the building was demolished in 1930 to make way for the Irving Trust Bank Headquarters Building.
